A new report on consumer mobility finds that nearly half of U.S. consumers say they couldn’t last one day without their smartphones.

The report on mobile trends and consumers’ attitudes toward mobile devices was recently released by Bank of America, which surveyed more than 1,000 respondents across the U.S.

Of consumers who use mobile phones for banking, nearly one third say they log on to their accounts at least once a day, and four out of five check their accounts by phone at least once a week or more.

Respondents say they are stepping into physical banks less and less: only 23 percent said they complete a majority of transactions at a branch. Almost half (47 percent) say mobile devices or going online is their preferred method of banking.
